This is the second appearance for Fantacine here on Orlando Video. This collective has produced some quality work, and Texas, Georgia and Florida have seen fit to honor them for their work, according to their web site. The director of this film is a one Benjamin M Piety, who also directed the Heathens’ music video I mentioned earlier.
If you want to see this clip without the fun YouTube box around it, click here. I also recommend you check out Benjamin’s home page, where you can also find his blog.
This trailer makes me think of the long string of, well, “emo” films that have been sweeping out country in the last few years – Eternal Sunshine, Garden State, or locally produced The Last Romantic, the movie that launched Band Marino to local stardom, or the movie that Band Marino launched to local stardom, or maybe they were working in chorus. Still, this film appears to look beautiful, even if I have no idea what it’s about, I’d like to see it. Maybe they will get in to Florida Film Fest, so we can all see what’s up…
If you want to tell us what’s up, protest about my posting two films from the same… studio? OR if you would like to see a film of your own here, send an email — liberatr [at] gmail DOT com.

The film was actually just accepted into the SXSW Film Festival (along with the Heathen’s video). You can check it out here –

Hope you enjoy and thanks for plugging Fantacine – pretty soon, we’re going to relaunch our site with full length shorts and lots of other goodies.
Have a great day.
