Shock Treatment is one of those films — well, it’s a cult film. Chances are you haven’t heard of it, and if you have I doubt you’ve seen it. I haven’t yet seen it, but apparently you can buy an honest-to-goodness DVD of the film now. The second film from Richard O’Brien, creator of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, the intent was to make a film that was in the same universe as Rocky and encourage the same sort of audience partici… pation. It never really gained commercial success and only the cult fans keep it alive nowadays.
My friend Marc (who is a local musician) is a big fan of the music from this film, big enough to cover seven songs from the soundtrack and release them on the Shock Treatment Network. Donny O’Bryan of STN was such a fan of two of the covers to create music videos for them. This one is for Duel Duet, which was originally sung by two actors in the film. Marc doesn’t have two voices, so he just sang them both. You can read more about it over at Marc’s site if you like.
If you want your music videos to show up here, email liberatr [at] gmail dot com.
Disclosure: I play drums for Marc with a C. Still, I did not post this video until Marc mentioned it to me. Further, I didn’t have anything to do with the creation of this video or the song.
